Aug 31, 2012 -- 10:45 am
A variety of supports are available this year as KSDE supports our Kansas educators to conduct efficient, effective and compliant evaluations that are used in making eligibility decisions for students who may be eligible for special education. Please be sure to check out the following:

Evaluation/Eligibility Training dates/locations:

December 5-6, 2012; Hutchinson, KS - For details and registration, please go here http://www.ksdetasn.org/cms/index.php/component/registrationpro/event/56/Evaluation-and-Eligibility-Training---Hutchinson/0

Updated Eligibility Indicators Document:

The Eligibility Indicators document was revised in August 2012. This working document is revised periodically based on feedback that we receive from educators across the state. Of note in these revisions, there are two new indicators included in the section for Specific Learning Disability that reflect language that is aligned with the Patterns of Strengths and Weaknesses and Response to Intervention (RtI) methods of evaluation. The updated document may be accessed by visiting the KSDE website at this link: http://www.ksde.org/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=09GezgEcubM%3d&tabid=2863&mid=11429
