“School has been cancelled due to inclement weather.” I remember the thrill as a child of hearing those words as I called the school’s hotline. A day filled with folly and frolicking in the snow brings a sense of nostalgia of which most can relate.

Nowadays, I even hear of students engaging in superstitious routines such as sleeping with spoons under their pillows and wearing their pajamas backwards, all in the hopes that the snow will come and school will be cancelled.
