Apr 15, 2015 -- 2:55 pmBeginning fall 2015 Pittsburg State University will offer a certificate in Early Childhood Autism! This is in addition to the two certificates that focus on school-aged students, "Classic" and "Higher Functioning" Autism.
The Early Childhood Autism coursework has been developed in collaboration with some amazing professionals from TASN-Autism and Tertiary Behavior Supports, KU Med - Center for Child Health and Development, Kansas Parent Information Resource Center, Families Together, Inc., Kansas Center For Autism Research and Training, Kansas early childhood special educators, and parents.
All Autism Certificate courses are offered through a online-hybrid format. Students are assigned specific learning modules to complete online (on their own time) and at the end of each module the class meets live online for a facilitated discussion. These live meetings will take place on Tuesday evenings.
